Conference in Parma: La Spezia Port Authority’s President, Lorenzo Forcieri says that the VAT produced by port operations reaches 9 billion Euros.

“According to Assoporti, the VAT amount produced by port operations is more than 9 billion Euros per year. I don’t think that the government can  underestimate the risk of losing such a considerable source of income. A bigger attention to the port world is necessary because if we lose competitiveness, traffic will move to the ports in Northern Europe and in the rest of the Med.”

This is what Mr. Lorenzo Forcieri, President of la Spezia Port Authority, said during his speech at the conference “The intentions of the port facilities. The Tirreno – Brennero logistics platform”, which was held in Parma  organised by CEPIM and Unione Parmense Industriali.

“Port create richness and that’s the reason why we all should unite to finally obtain the reform of law n. 84/94. Other countries have already promulgated more efficient laws in order to improve the ports competitiveness and better meet the market’s demand, and we should do the same, otherwise we will be out of the market”.
