La Spezia – Traffic January 2010
Container traffic: + 27%
A very good beginning for the port of La Spezia: in January, a total of 93.905 teus have been handled, with a 27% increase compared to last year.
After the down turn in 2009 (- 16%), the situation seems to become more positive for Mediterranean ports, and for La Spezia in particular.
In fact, the port seems to get back to the volumes of 2008.
La Spezia Container Terminal handled 74.260 teus, showing a 19,2 % increase, while Terminal Del Golfo moved a total of 12.479 teus, with a 35,8 % increase.
The total container throughput shows a 32 % increase compared to January 2009.
