La Spezia: waterfront works are going to start. Master plan approved
La Spezia Port Authority’s President and the town’s major presented the new projects: “An epoch-making event for the town”.
Architect Josè Llavador’s winning project is now going to be realised.
The master plan was finally presented at the Port Committee and at the press.
The intervention area is about 330 thousand sqm for a total investment of 250 million euros. The new waterfront areas will host 4 and 5 stars hotels, congress centres, green areas for a total of 40 thousands sqm, pedestrian ways, wellness and fitness centres, swim pools, “people mover” zones, parking areas, a sea museum, a new wet dock and a new cruise terminal, commercial activities, an open air amphitheatre.
“In my opinion, such a project can be an epoch-making event for the town, making it more modern and liveable, and we want to make the tourism stronger as well”, said Mr Lorenzo Forcieri, Port Authority’s President.
For the first time, people will be able to walk along the sea for over 1500 km.
