San Marco

San Marco shipyard, established in 1999, is located just in the middle of the Gulf of la Spezia, covering an area of 43,000 sqm, in a protected position thanks to the Gulf’s depth and the surrounding mountains, adjacent to the merchant harbour area.
San Marco shipyard can be easily reached from all European countries, being located approximately half a kilometre off the motorway linking la Spezia to the main domestic and international roads. San Marco shipyard relies on manpower of more than 160 people and also employs more than 500 engineers and workers from specialised sub-contractor companies.
San Marco’s functionality and operational ability is such as to ensure any kind of ship conversion up to 80,000 DWT and constructions up to 40,000 DWT - in addition to the most sophisticated ship repair techniques. The shipyard has acquired a wide experience in the marine field with conversions, new buildings and repairs in a wide range of vessels including container carriers, gas carriers, bulk carriers, Ro Ro ferries, fast ferries, off shore, nevy vessels and passengers ships. Moorings are provided by three piers of 220 and 100 metres respectively and a 14,000 TLC floating dock. At present, the shipyard’s main production line is the new building of chemical product tankers of 20,000 and 40,000 DWT and sophisticated Fi-Fi tug boat.
